35th anniversary - Michigan Trip 10/08

After having been to Mac Island twice before, I knew it was something I wanted to share with my husband, so...what better time than to celebrate a milestone anniversary year like the 35th. The first big event was to stop by Ft. Custer, Kalamazoo County to see where Greg was born. After that we spent 6 full days exploring various museums and areas in the state of Michigan. We were picked up on the 7th of Oct and whisked away to Mackinaw Island where we enjoyed the unhurried life of horse and buggy, and step back in time (Somewhere in Time). Ü The food, the ambiance, the walking, the lakes, the biking, the shops, the old people (oh, did I mention there was a ton of them there?)... but we had a great time. Here are just a few of the pictures to identify where, what and how much fun we actually did have.... (and if Greg denies it, well, you know your dad!..tehe).... soooooo Happy 35th Anniversary to us...from us...

Dinkey Creek

Okay, this was really fun. We took Brenae, Emeran and Brayden up to Dinkey Creek for 4 days and 3 nts right before school started. It was a blast. We even heard a bear trying to get into ice chests 2 campsites over from ours at 3am, then the car alarms went off....what a hoot. The rocks slide is still there with plenty enough water to enjoy, even in late August. We're gonna plan to do this again next year, maybe everybody can come!! Ü

Home Improvements

Greg has been a busy boy. Here you see the block wall in the backyard (in hopes of keeping the neighbors garbage out during the rainy season), your dad working on the new deck cover, the finished deck cover and the new fence between the chicken/dog yard next door... wahoo!

ok, I finally figured that it took a LONG time for images to download........better late than never. 4th of July parade "tradition" in Templeton. (ignore the man in van and ladies to the back left) back row begins with Jerm, Keara, Gower Tina and Greg. Grandkids from front left Emeran, Jedi, Brayden, Brenae, Naomi (dawn) and Jarom
BBQ burgers/dogs and swim party afterwards with, of course a wonderful display of fireworks at dusk (Emeran actually stayed out and watched this year and everyone did sparklers.
